Today, for the first and probably last time, I found myself standing in the middle of I-5 near downtown Seattle. I was at the front end of traffic (on my way to Portland) when a car chase with police came to an end in a collision near the construction at Stewart. Yikes. The response from police was amazing, and cars ended up stopped in all sorts of crooked configurations on the road, as we needed to move for cop car after emergency response vehicle as they attempted to blast on through. People then got out of cars to get a better view of the scene and to chat about what happened. For about 15 minutes, I felt like an extra in an action movie. Luckily, they quickly figured out how to get us moving on through again by turning the shoulder into two lanes of traffic. It was nuts.
