Thank you to my wonderful friends for a lovely dinner out Friday night! Sadly, the 35th St. Bistro has undergone a change in ownership, and things were a bit dicey. Same look, different feel and menu. When Monice inquired about our favorite cheese board, she was told that was so two chefs ago. But, our server said she could put the cheese on a board for us if we really wanted. Em cracked up about that one, imagining a well-intentioned employee slapping down a two-by-four on our table. The frites aren't the same. We had a few other mishaps with our server, down to the end when she informed us that gratuity wasn't included in the bill. Yeah, well, it wasn't then and it isn't now either, lady! Just kidding. We'll cut them a break since it was the first week, but I think I'm going to have to start a search for a new favorite place.

Thanks to my fabulous mother, aunt, sisters, and Trav for making our weekend celebration so fun. Last night we had a fantastic dinner at The Sapphire Hotel, my new favorite spot in Portland. My aunt bought us a delicious bottle of champagne, and we spent the evening talking and laughing and enjoying the scene and food. The Sapphire Hotel knows how to do a cheese board!

We watched three movies this weekend:

1. Pineapple Express. Dud.
2. Confessions of a Shopaholic. Dud. (Was supposed to be fun girly movie with my sisters. Not. I mean, we laughed, but not really in a good way.)
3. Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Loved it! Well, minus one part, but overall it was a consistently hilarious movie, which is very rare.
