Sayonara, Bowling Queen

Molly and Trav will arrive on Wednesday! I'm so freakin excited they are coming for a visit I can hardly contain myself. Yay! Yay! Yay! I just miss that Zozo too much and can't wait for more sister time.

I'm totally addicted to Flight of the Conchords. Em and I were hanging out this weekend, and I had her watch a few episodes with me. She's hooked now too, which is trouble since we both are pretty quotey about the whole thing. "Uh, yeah, can you call me by my rapper name...Rhymenocerous."

Thanks to friend Monica have now also seen a couple of episodes of Scott Baio is 45...and Single. It's quality programs for me all the way. Who knew Scott Baio was such a hot item? It's all very surprising.

Survived hike this weekend, although was very sore for a good couple of days after. In spite of my huffiness about feeling the burn in the moment, it was really nice sitting on the ridge, talking with Jen and eating fruit, while soaking up the sun.

Went bowling with new friend Sunday night and, frankly, humiliated myself in the third and final game with a shockingly low score. I have plenty of excuses, though! They go like this: 1.25 beers + Blister on thumb + Penchant for hitting just one pin = 52. I can't believe I got a horrendous 52. Boo. I'm a lightweight anyway, but after hiking and not eating too much during the day, yes, 1.25 beers was enough to make me slightly drunk. But, it didn't stop me from finishing that second drink and staggering up to the line to toss my ball down the alley. And, well, am suddenly very talented at hitting just one corner pin-- and one pin only--on my first throw. I'm sure that's pretty hard to do, so I like to think of it as a skill. Luckily, my friend agreed, didn't make fun of me too much, and he even came up with a separate scoring system in which you earn additional points for knocking down just one pin. Still. I can't live with this hanging over me, especially when he tripled my score. Hmph. Must hire a bowling coach, practice lots, and redeem myself. Will be the Happy Gilmore of bowling.
