I have found a new calling: Intervention on Wheels. Experience is causing me to become quite skilled at having difficult conversations with people about their well-being, and I feel this could lead to a new career path. Even if not all scenarios are interventions, I like the catchy name and the image of me motoring around Seattle in the Scion TC ready to intervene at a moments notice. Mentioned idea to friend Marcel and he has proposed this logo to make my car official:

Love the supportive friends! Also must stock up on the appropriate supplies for this line of work. It's pathetic when all I have to offer an emotional person is the questionable Starbucks napkin crumpled into the cup holder between the driver and passenger seats. For trickier cases, the mug chucking (thwok!) method may be appropriate to incorporate into my technique as a "wake up call". Should probably obtain actual credentials at some point, too.

Thank you to wonderful friend, Shannon, for such a lovely day together on Wednesday. We see each other so rarely that, no matter what we decide to do (this time we explored the town and waterfront of Edmonds - woo!), our long days together are always filled with great conversation and laughter, not to mention good food. This time was no different. Most special to me is the bond we share based on our equal fascination and curiosity about the deeper meaning behind, well, pretty much everything, the desire to continuously learn and develop inner truth, and the ease in which we can talk freely for hours, shifting seamlessly between topics. One minute we may be chatting about a movie, or where to buy cute shoes, and the next we're contemplating what it takes to be content in life. We never seem to run out of questions, and I like that we can just sit together, completely comfortable in the silence, letting our own thoughts explore whatever we're discussing. Sometimes I seriously crave that kind of connection, and time with Shannon means getting that fix.

Shannon also brought me a Music Lust book, and that is reminding me of all the new music I want to buy. I'm really interested in the new Interpol, Spoon, Tegan & Sara, and the Minus the Bear remix album (love Pachuca Sunrise). AND, just received the new Showbox calendar. There are so many great shows coming up; Em and I have decided we want to go to everything. Spoon!

Busy weekend ahead, so I'm in early tonight to rest up and babble away at you on the blog. My tired self is not very articulate, I'm afraid. Have plans for hiking, tennis, and possibly bowling. Have suddenly become quite sporty. Jen and I checked weather report and see only 10% chance of rain on Sunday, so our wallets should not be getting a workout this time around. Must feel the burn for real, so I can continue to fit into newly purchased jeans. Happy Birthday, Claire! Looking forward to your bbq celebration.
