Well, the dripping water from the ceiling became a problem. It turns out the water heater broke down and sprung a leak, making the water flowing down to my apartment worse and worse throughout the night. It was rough, and because it was late when this happened, the repair person couldn't come out until this morning. I had to sleep with the door to my room closed so the drip, drip, dripping wouldn't drive me bonkers and keep me awake, but that meant Kitty, with her lovely bladder infection, couldn't get in and out without scratching at the door. And she did. Frequently. Then, I got up a couple of times to empty the water out of the buckets so they wouldn't overflow onto the carpet. I was stumbling around in a sleepy haze dumping out brown water into the sink and then falling back into bed only to wake a couple of hours later to repeat. Basically, I was still awake being driven bonkers. Yaaaaaaaaaay.

The good news is that the water heater has been replaced and the leaking has stopped. I'm so relieved. I just have a messy hole in my ceiling for now and a big circle of wet carpet that should dry in the next day or so. But, I can't complain. There were fantastic thunderstorms tonight, and I'm off to bed soon for a cozy night of uninterrupted (I hope!) sleep.
