So, I mean, I don't even really watch that Jon & Kate + their horde of children show because, frankly, it gives me nightmares. I don't know how they deal. I love children, but eight seems like at least six or seven too many to me. Maybe eight too many. I hear when they're your own it's not that bad, but I am not convinced. On the few occasions I've happened to catch the show, I alternate between feeling utter relief that it's not me in that "situation," and completely overwhelmed with everything that's going on there. Also, the Jon and Kate dynamic totally makes me cringe and has been the biggest turnoff of all. My friends have heard my rant about that. Yet...I'm upset at the prospect of them breaking up. How can this be? It doesn't seem doable. I feel panicked. How can either of them possibly handle eight children?!?! Come to your senses, peeps. Aaaaaaaaaaaah! If you can't stay together for the children, stay together for ME and my peace of mind.

Anyway.

In single, childless, carefree news, which I'm loving at the moment, Em sent me the link to this week's Celebrity Jeopardy on SNL. It is hi-lar-i-ous. Tom Hanks quietly revives the oldie but goodie "sibilance" line that I adored in the Wayne's World days. I was so happy to hear it! Em also made an excellent 2009 Summer Mix cd, and now I'm obsessively listening to and singing Lady Sovereign's Let's Be Mates. "I'm weird, you're weird...I like monkeys, you like monkeys." My new fave! And, as many of us know, sort of my m.o. in terms of choosing potential love interests. For some reason "weird" appeals to me greatly, but--surprise, surprise--it never seems to work out. Yet. Someday I will find my perfect weird match and live in intermittent bizarre happiness forever after. Or something like that.

My Hooptie
makes an appearance too (aw,I miss the hoopty), as well as "You're a ZEER-OOOOOH-OH!" which I still enjoy belting out whenever I have the chance. In fact...

Well, that's done. Have I ever mentioned to you how much I love Mystery Science Theater? I really do. I wish I could go down to Portland to see Cinematic Titanic with Mols in a couple of weeks, but it's not looking good. I'll have to get some of the DVDs, though. I would totally audition to be on that show. I always have commentary, and I like to share it.

Oh crap. It appears the washing machine upstairs has sprung a leak that is dripping directly into my doorway. I've alerted the owners, and I've strategically placed buckets below the drips with rags over them to muffle, but I have some noise issues when it comes to sleep. And, I'm hoping these buckets will last through the night with no overflow. Sigh. The one great thing about apartment living is that, outside of the noise factor, this isn't my problem! But geezopete.
