Today was Emily's moving day, and even though it's gorgeous out, I'm now holed up in my apartment resting after a busy morning and afternoon of schlepping stuff around. It was actually pretty fun. Lots of fantastic people showed up to help, and we got done fairly quickly. After we unloaded stuff at the cute new pad, Amy and I went out to get pizza and beverages for the crew. We stopped at Market Time and ended up having a little dance party in the beer section at the back of the store. I mean, they were piping disco-type tunes out of their speakers, so how could we not dance? The problem was that we were totally distracted by our moves, coming up with super cool new ones, that we couldn't stop giggling and dancing, so it took us an unusually long time to select drinks. I love it, though. It was one of those how could life get any better moments. I've noticed that Amy is a really good person to share in those. Jumping on hotel beds...unabashedly dancing in grocery stores...laughing hysterically...love that girl.
I'm watching Someone Like You on the cable while typing away. I've always liked this movie alright, but now I'm noticing certain behavioral similarities between me and the Jane character, particularly in the area of coming up with relationship/sex theories. Although, I think I'll stick with my spicy food theories and avoid developing any along the lines of New Cow/Old Cow. Just can't touch that one.
I can't wait to go visit my sister in about a week! Luckily, their house was spared, just barely, in the Tahoe fire, so I won't have to drop a sleeping bag on the pile of ash that once was the futon in the computer room. I like having a fully functional area to set up camp. It was scary, but it looks like they are in the clear and get to move back home tonight. I'm so happy for them, but I'm sad for all the people who lost everything. Such a terrible tragedy.
We have some fun stuff planned for my stay. We're going to see psychic Dayle Schear's show at the Horizon Casino when I get in on Tuesday. We'll visit some bridal shops to try on wedding dresses (my maid of honor duties are kicking in). We're going to spend Thursday night, before the boys return from CO, at the Grand Sierra Resort. Check this place out! Fabulous pool, massages, shopping, bowling, room service. We're going to live it up for a day of pure relaxation and pampering. This fits in quite nicely with my Be Nice to Megan efforts. Then the rest of the week will include Travie time, swimming and sun, and eating delicious foods (Bluewater Bistro and SPROUTS!), of course. Molly has quit her ridiculously crappy job, which means she will be free as a bird while I'm there, and the three of us plan to tear up the town.
Zozo is really cracking me up now. He has learned so many new words and is back into talking on the phone. Only, he has turned very Owen Meany and constantly speaks in all caps. "NO! BYE! BYE! KIT-TYYYY! SORRRRRRRRY! ERE ARE YOU?!? LOVE YOU!"
Someone swiped the J. Sayonara, J Day.
