It turns out I love the day after Halloween! It's my holiday. I didn't buy candy, because I wasn't going to be home for trick or treaters, and I wanted to avoid having it around the house. My healthy plan backfired though, since everyone at work brought in their leftovers yesterday, and there were piles of chocolate everywhere. I went a little nuts, almost like a kid in a candy store. Har har. Deprivation will do that to you. I cruised around happily snacking on mini Almond Joys, Take 5's, Snickers, Butterfingers, M&M's and Twix all day. Like most other naughty indulgences in life, it was really fun and delicious at the time, but of course there is always a price to pay. I think I am experiencing what is known as a sugar crash. I've felt totally hung over all day. Yick.
Congratulations to Molly and Joe on their engagement! I keep forgetting to mention that, and it's way bigger news than Kitty's Halloween costume. Yours truly is the Maid of Honor. Stay tuned for info on how to find my new super secret blog called Maid of Honor Hell. Just kidding (in case Mols happens to see this). I'm so touched and honored that my sister asked me. I just hope I'm cut out for the job. Luckily, it's a year+ away, so I have lots of time to prep/go into denial.
This weekend should be full of music fun. My usual music buddies are busy, so I'm dragging another one of my good (not boyfriend) guy friends to Audioasis with me Saturday night. I wonder how many crazy ladies will manage to corner us this time to question why we're not dating, ignore whatever explanation we give about our friendship, and then start referring to me as his wife? Always entertaining, if a little annoying. My friend Al's band is playing a show at the Dubliner that night, too, which I'm going to try to catch. Sunday it's Band of Horses! Goody!
As a side note, it looks like I'm going to be in Seattle for Thanksgiving again this year, since I'll be heading to Tahoe for a short trip soon and most likely again for Christmas. My friends and I are plotting a dinner out, and I'm really looking forward to doing that since I had a wonderful time at Palisade last year. I'm so on board with the no stress, *no cooking* holidays! We haven't decided on a place yet, so if you have any restaurant recommendations, please send them my way.
