I'm leaving for my few days in Tahoe soon. In preparing to depart, my goal is to not succumb to the powers of procrastination tonight. I will not repeat the pattern of my last few trips! I will resist the temptation to plunk down in front of some chick flick on TV and paint my nails, thinking I have plenty of time to get ready, when what I should be doing is packing my bags so I can get to sleep at a decent hour. There will be no mad rush at 2am as I swear up a storm while tossing random items into my suitcase. I need my beauty rest! Especially since I haven't been getting much lately. I don't know what my deal is, but I've been awake, awake, awake when I should be fast asleep dreaming of hot men. It takes a toll on a girl. Ha!
I haven't decided whether or not this will be a computer trip, so you may not hear from me until early next week. I'll return Monday night and, because I am so clearly (and some might say pathetically) obsessed with music, race from the airport to the High Dive to catch Airport Cathedral's show. I've wanted to see them/him perform for a long time, and this appears to be my only chance in the immediate future. I'm going to take it, darn it! Who cares that I will probably be exhausted after a busy weekend away and need to get up early for work the next morning!?! I'm young(ish) and resilient and have my priorities straight!
Apparently, I'm also delirious due to lack of sleep. I'm going overboard with the !!!!
I know he is only one, but I really want to get this for Trav for Christmas. Isn't it the coolest? I want one for myself, not only for the light up factor, although that's a biggie, but so I can re-learn some geography. I know it was covered pretty well in school, but use it or lose it, right? Well, I've lost it. Embarrassing.
Em was heading my way yesterday morning, so she gave me a ride to work. We continued to practice our literal choreography for "You Shook Me All Night Long" but decided there are a few AC/DC's we'd rather not touch, such as "Given the Dog a Bone" and "Let Me Put My Love Into You." Subtle. We also discussed the difficulty of applying literal choreography to certain songs. For example, The Killers' "When You Were Young." How do you pantomime "he doesn't look a thing like Jesus, but he talks like a gentleman, like you imagined when you were young"? I don't know. It's tricky.
P.S. Yay, Democrats! Sayonara, Rumsfeld! Finally.
