I am feeling very isolated at home with no cable or internet. I keep thinking I can jump online to find info, talk to my sisters, or send email, but I can't. It feels funny. I have to wait until the end of this week, which sucks, but I did negotiate a good cable/internet deal with Comcast as part of the transfer, so I'm pleased with myself.

I haven't done so hot with unpacking this weekend. My approach is to rummage through boxes to find the one particular thing I'm looking for and leave the rest packed away. This means there are cute little "areas" in my apartment, but there are still boxes full of stuff to trip over and shuffle around EVERYWHERE. I was supposed to go to a movie with friends tonight--Art School Confidential--but the timing isn't working out (I'm looking forward to that one, maybe tomorrow.), so I think I'm going to rent a movie to watch while I at least get the kitchen unpacked and organized. Must make progress. Also, I'm leaving on my trip (yay!) in less than a week and am not prepared at all. Siiiiiiiiigh.

Last night, Em and I saw Mountain Con at the High Dive. They are a really fun band! It was great to see a show like that after going through a period of not feeling enthused about the new music we'd check out. We feel we must see them again immediately. However, they don't have much going on in Seattle for a while, so immediately actually means sometime.

Before the show, I stopped by Em's apartment, and she had a beautiful little bouquet of light pink peonies on her coffee table. I couldn't stop looking at or smelling them. Peonies have to be the best flower ever. They are gorgeous with a perfect scent. I'm so glad they are starting to bloom right now. It makes me feel like summer is really here.
