So, my friend Elizabeth asks, "What is up with people gluing little toy animals to their cars?" I found this question timely, as recently I had been usurped out of a parking spot in Belltown by a woman with an old Chrysler covered in furry toy cats. On my second spin around the neighborhood--no parking in sight--I saw Chrysler Cat Lady strutting around her car with obvious pride. It's puzzling, and we both have questions. First of all, why , oh why? What are these automobile owners saying to the world? Do they do the work themselves or are there car decorating specialists out there? If an animal car is freeway legal, what are the odds that a plastic giraffe will come unglued and fly into the windshield of an unsuspecting driver?
Help! I want to know.
