I have so much to report from the past couple of days. Mainly, I want to talk about Israel's education system and the plight of migrant workers (not to mention our stroll through brothel central, which is located in the same area as the migrants). Both fascinating topics in my book, and I'm excited to write about what we've seen and done, but I'm so exhausted tonight that it will have to wait until tomorrow. There's a lot to say. Today on my player I heard Nada Surf's "Do It Again" and I had to agree with the lyrics. I *am* spending all my energy staying upright at the moment.
Stay tuned!
We're in Haifa now, which I'm finding very beautiful and nice. I think I like it better than Tel Aviv, but I have a couple of days to find out for sure.
After a debacle trying to pick up the money my fam sent me via Western Union on Friday, I finally got it yesterday, so everything here is pretty good right now. Thanks again to everyone for the help and offers of help!
I still really miss my rings though. My fingers look naked without them, and I see the tan lines where they were and I get a bit sad. They were worth nothing, but I found them beautiful and they've been with me through a lot. It's hard to let go of the sentimental value. I loved them. I'll get over it, I'm sure. I'm starting a search for replacement rings so my hands don't feel so bare.
