K Falls Bound!

After a very rainy drive to Portland last night, and a pretty good night of sleep, the Travinator and I are getting ready for the long drive down to K Falls. We're going to meet up with Bryn a bit later and hit the road. Looking forward to getting there!

So, on Saturday I got my hair cut from my new stylist who I love. She does a great job, and I feel like I've known her forever. We talk about interesting stuff and she tells great stories. For example she told me about one of her clients whose girlfriend lives in New York. The gf was house-sitting for these people who had a couple of Great Danes. Sadly, one of them died while she was there. The owners were totally ok with that, but they asked her to take the body to the vet, and she said sure. The gf didn't have money for a cab, so she thought about what to do, and ended up putting the dog in a suitcase to take on the subway. Needless to say the suitcase was very heavy. A guy very nicely offered to help her with the bag as she boarded, and he ended up sitting near her. He was curious about what she was carrying that was so heavy. The gf didn't want to say a dead dog, so she said computer parts instead. When they reached her stop, the guy very chivalrously offered to help her get the bag off the train. She accepted his help, and suddenly he was running off with the bag. He'd made off with the "computer parts." All I can say is karma, baby.

Anyhoo, during one of our convos, hairstylist K said, "Speaking of changes..."

Me: Uh oh.

Her: Yes, well, I have to tell you I've decided to go back to school full-time.

I gave her a blank stare.

Her: I know, I know. You said this would happen. I feel bad. I just feel like I'm really needing to make a change.

Me: Yes, well, I know how this goes. I understand being restless. You have to do what you have to do.

Her: Yeah...thanks. You totally called it! It's like people say, "there's that Megan girl. Peace out."

Me: Story of my life, dude. But, I'm happy that you're going to do what's best for you. You just better give me some recommendations! I'm not starting from scratch again!

So, she did another great job with my hair and loaded me up with free samples (out of guilt). And I left with names of two other good stylists. K's last day is at the end of September, so I'm scheduling one last appointment. Boo!

More from a very small town in southern Oregon soon!

Oh my gosh - the story about the "computer parts" being stolen is killing me. Seriously - I can't stop giggling about it. Have a great time on your vacay and enjoy your time with Travis. I can't wait to hear what his cuteness says and does on this trip!
