Tonight was a lovely night with the lovely girls. We sat around drinking wine and eating cheese, olives, and chocolate. We talked up a storm. And, we watched Wayne's World. Now for those of you who know that WW is one of my faves, this should be great, huh? Well, the only problem with watching WW with other people is having to constantly monitor self so I do not say the lines word for word throughout the entire movie. It's a lot more difficult than it sounds, really. I felt the words swelling up inside during certain parts, and I willed myself to keep quiet. It took major discipline. It's rough, and now I'm exhausted.
A night with the girls and WW was exactly what my tired self needed, though. I've been working hard writing, writing, writing my final. My fun books are sitting in a pile calling to me, and it's only a few more days my friends! My essay questions are due on Thursday, and I'm making excellent progress, but I was also in need of a break to take a step back and clear my head for the final push. I'm happy with my topics, so I'm looking forward to submitting it. It turns out my instructor really liked my paper on Reiki for autism, which made me very happy after my worries. I spent some time talking with her at our last class, and she's supportive of my area of interest with AS/ASD and is helping me figure out next steps. It's so nice.
Another reason for tired self is that I had trouble sleeping last night after the Incident at the Tutoring End of Year Party. One of the tutors was playing basketball with a big group of students and other tutors. He was standing near me and jumped up to get the ball. Something happened so he ended up twisting and coming down hard on the palm of his hand into the cement. It just wasn't right, man, and it it looks like he snapped the bones on both sides of his wrists. His arm and hand was jacked. The bones weren't quite jutting out of his arm, but they were right there, and his hand was no longer in the right place. Poor guy. He handled it really well with all these people standing around him. I wonder what he does for a living, because I'm sure it's going to be really difficult not having use of his hand for a while. All night and today I had the image of the arm in my head.
We have a Pleo at work now! Check it out! It's adorable.
I think Mols and Trav are going to come down on Friday to spend the weekend in Seattle. Yay! I'll have to bring Trav to work to show him the Pleo. He will love it. Graduation on Saturday (I have to get a dress - gah!), and then summer officially begins! Woo hoo!
