I'm so completely overwhelmed by school right now! This may have something to do with the fact that I ditched homework this weekend to make a run down to Portland to visit the sisters and surprise the Trav-man. I know, I know. I should be more responsible with my time, quit procrastinating, and blahbitty blah, but you tell me if this wasn't worth it:

Trav is into posing funny for pics now. But, here is a normalish one with my favorite guy:

How could I not be 10 times happier after spending time with his cuteness? It was so great to see him and spend time going for walks and playing. He kept saying, "You surprised me. I didn't even know you were coming here," in his little three year old voice. He was into my hair clip once he figured out how it worked. He liked for me to take it out so he could say, "Come on, let's make your hair like how it always looks," and attempt to attach the clip to my hair. "Always" being the few hours I'd been there. In my 24 hours in P-town, I taught Travie how to blow his nose really loud like I do, only he fakes it, sounding a lot like Donald Duck somehow. Then, he came along while I was showing Brynna the Charlie the Unicorn video online, and he really got into it. Primarily, he liked to pretend he was the blue unicorn jumping up and down on Charlie, i.e. me. This forced me to say the line, "Quit bouncing on me!" several times, much to his delight. Kids. The problem is that Charlie the Unicorn isn't really age appropriate for him, and he insisted on watching it a few times. He doesn't really get it now (thankfully), but I can see him now with his future therapist explaining how, when he was only three, his auntie Baconar let him watch this cartoon about a unicorn who gets his kidney stolen at the end. I'll prolly have some therapy bills coming my way.

The weekend was gorgeous, and I really loved the drive to and from Portland. It was zippy, and I enjoyed turning on my music and being in my head for a while. I feel like I needed that. AND, on the drive down, I heard When in Rome's "The Promise" from start to finish on the radio! Happy times! I cranked it up.

Then, tonight I heard The Cure's "Close to Me" on my drive home after work, which made me happy too. Love that one as well and haven't heard it in a while. Always a fun surprise. I get into the beat.

I have things to say about the conference on Friday, but I'm having a hard time organizing my thoughts right now, but hopefully I will be able to after things calm down a bit. Tomorrow is my last day of tutoring, and next week my class ends. Just a little bit longer, and then things will suddenly be quiet, quiet, quiet.

In random work tidbits, after the conference on Friday I stopped by the office for a little event and to catch up with some friends. While standing around outside chatting, the Big Boss came up attempting to demonstrate what could only be loosely described as dancing. I watched for a moment and then told him his moves were quite "nerdalicious." Yep!

The strange conversation thing with people persists. Today I was outside bringing in the garbage cans, and my former neighbor was visiting his kids at the apartment across the driveway. I hadn't seen him for a while, and we stopped to chat for a minute. He asked me about living in an apartment in a house and the noise factor from the peeps upstairs. I explained that sometimes the noise bugged, but it isn't too bad. He proceeded to launch into a story about a basement apartment he lived in recently that had poor sound control. He described hearing the people upstairs fighting sometimes, and then followed that up with, "Yeah, one time I ripped this really loud fart, and I could hear them laughing upstairs. It wasn't good." I was like, "Oh!" and then the conversation pretty much ended. That was info I didn't really need to know, but thanks for the fyi, dude! It was one of those moments when I was looking around wondering, who's crazy here... and what is going on?

Back to my work...
