Yesterday there was a little lunar eclipse viewing party on the balcony of the sixth floor of my work. After a frustrating day, a few friends met ahead of time for wine, cheese and funny conversation, then we made our way upstairs to look at the moon. My expectations were low, but it ended up being a lot of fun! The weather was clear and mild, so we were comfortable hanging out, and there was an interesting mix of people chatting. Not only was the moon gorgeous, but knowledgeable guys with telescopes were all set up, so we got to look at interesting things in the sky. I sort of got addicted to the stars and planets. My favorite was seeing the rings of Saturn (so cool!)...and bossing the telescope guy.
"Excuse me. We've already seen that! Find me something else, please. NOW!!!"
It worked. I'm always a hit at parties.
