January is always a drag month when it comes to me posting on the blog. I don't know why that is, really. Maybe am worn out from the holidays. Maybe am too busy focusing on New Year resolutions. Maybe am just a dud in January. It tends to be a quiet time for me, and my motivation to write is on the low side. I'm lacking good material! Life is good, though. Nada Surf is coming up in a little over a week, and I am SO EXCITED! They will return at the end of March, too, and of course I must go to that one. I hear Radiohead is coming to Seattle this summer, and I want to see them so much. Shows, shows everywhere. Although, I can't believe the Croc Cafe closed. Or that Sunset Bowl is closing! Where will I have my dive bowling parties now???
Last weekend, I went to McMinnville, OR to visit my littlest sister, Brynna, and her boyfriend, Foxy Sam. Or FS, as we like to shorten it. I always love seeing my sis, and I had a great time hanging out with those two. It looks like there are so many cool wineries out there, and it's only about 45 minutes away from the coast, so I'm looking forward to going back to explore.
I'm still in my What's the Deal With God? phase and reading a bunch on that. My mom gave me an awesome antique French to English and English to French dictionary for Christmas, and now I'm ready to jump back into learning the French again. I've forgotten everything from when I started last time, so it's back to square one. I'm in the process of signing up to tutor kids a couple of hours a week, and my friends and I are planning to join in on projects through Seattle Works. After spending the last year so focused on me, me, me, I'm feeling good about making a change.
Kitty and I continue to treat her hyperthyroidism, although we've switched from annoying ear gel to pills and are much happier. The neighbor kitties continue to leave dead rats at my front door. My serious talks with them are proving ineffective in curbing their killa behavior, and I'm at my wits end. I just don't know what about "We don't want rat corpses as presents!" they don't understand.
