The song Falling Slowly from Once is nominated for an Oscar. So awesome. Yay!

Although, no nomination for Joe Wright for Atonement. I don't know how this can be. It's clear this movie was so carefully and beautifully directed, especially during the lengthy beach/boardwalk scene near the end. It was eerie and uncomfortable and gorgeous and insane, totally capturing, at least in my imagination, the madness of war and the brokenness that's left after the fighting is done.

Also, down with the use of the word sammies! Me no likey. And I'm not the only one. As Monice says, "This is not ok!" We have a Facebook page dedicated to words we despise, and this one is near the top of the list. Moist is and will always be #1 though. Moist. Yuck!
