Happy (Belated) Thanksgiving, everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic holiday with family and friends. I spent all day (and late into the night) yesterday with a family I adore. It was lovely. I was so happy to have hours and hours to just hang out and catch up with one of my closest friends. Plus, her two adorable children are tons of fun. The weather was gorgeous so we had good playtime outside. I feel like there is a tiny fan club for the Bacon R. among my baby/toddler friends, and, well, what can I say? I love being loved. I'll take having a high cool factor with the Under Three Crowd. I think I might have to conduct a Phone Etiquette Baby Boot Camp in the future, though, because I receive the funniest, incoherent, and sometimes silent voice mails from these people.

My contribution to the festivities was, of course, my trusty Chex Mix. That's what I do. :-) Then, I helped mash the potatoes and left the dinner rolls in the oven too long, so they were extra crispy on the outside. At the table we all heard a nice crunch! anytime anyone took a bite of one.

Today I'm enjoying lounging around, watching movies, reading, and crunching on my leftover Chex Mix. It's lazy Megan Time.

Life has been interesting since I returned from vacation. I'm experiencing a lot of...I guess the word is synchronicity. Random things keep happening that, in the end, feel significant to me. I've had amazing conversations with strangers at times and places I wouldn't expect, about topics that are very meaningful to me at the moment. For example, at a favorite restaurant the other day, my friends and I were discussing some of the things related to religion, the Dead Sea Scrolls, the point of life, etc. that I talked about in a recent post. The guy at the next table overheard our conversation and, after it had wrapped up, he came over to say hello, confess that he had been listening in, and told us that he finds this stuff fascinating, too. Fearing briefly that he was winding up to proselytize, we mentally braced ourselves for something along lines of "Gee, these questions you have are sooooooo interesting and tough, but lucky for you I'm here with a pamphlet that will provide you with all the *true* answers you seek..." But no. Actually, he just wanted to express understanding and recommend an author, Alan Watts, whose perspective he found helpful in contemplating these topics and linking the commonalities between world religions. I love it!

P.S. Fam & friends, pics from K Falls/San Diego are up on the MySpace.
