One of the little gifts in our conference bags is a dark purple, plastic, tampon holder, courtesy of a research group at a university in the midwest. I'm not kidding. It's weird. What's even weirder is the line, "At the Bleeding Edge" printed across the lid. Ewwwwwww. They should have stamped a little graphic of a tampon on the loose next to it to complete the picture.

I think I'm okay with my current tampon transportation method and don't need a special case for them. I think I'd rather discreetly shove one in my pocket before heading to the bathroom than march off clutching a purple plastic container. I'm afraid it will be a conversation starter, and I don't want to have uncomf conversations with people about being at the bleeding edge.

I think the tampon holder has found a new home next to the bible in the hotel room desk drawer.
