The Muse show was AWE-SOOOOOOOOOME. I gotta say this band is everything good drama rock (drock) should be. In addition to the kick-ass music, they've got a super cool light show. They've got video playing in the background. They've got steam shooting up in front of the stage. They've got herkin balloons filled with confetti that they toss out into the audience. They've got a great sound set-up for arenas. They start out strong and are going strong until the very end. I love, love, loved it! Normally, when I have seats for a show, I'm not a get up and dance kind of girl. But this time I was very, how can you NOT get up and dance and sing along and just revel in being there? It was the kick in the pants that's made me very excited to see more live music again.

In other bizarre news, in the past week I've found myself rocking out to "Total Eclipse of the Heart" on two separate occasions. Once while getting ready for a night out and once while driving home from work. To go from not hearing or even thinking about that song for a couple of years to catching it twice on the radio in one week was very strange. The second time around I wondered if it was a sign, so I listened hard. And then I joined in. Fist up in the air, eyes gazing up to the heavens through the sunroof of my car as I belted out emotionally, "I really need you tonight! Forever's gonna start tonight! Forever's gonna start to...once upon a time there was light in my life..."

It was Intense. But then I got home, fed Kitty, had a burrito for dinner, watched some tv... Good times. Now I feel it was just a moment and that "Total Eclipse of the Heart" has no real significance in my life.

I recommend Shoot 'Em Up to all you Clive Owen and Paul Giamatti fans out there. As promised, I cleared my schedule Friday night so Em and I could go, and I stand by my choice. Yes, I had to cover my eyes a few times and curl up in my seat to block out some of the over the top violence, but, really, the movie is just good comedy. Em and I giggled our way through. Paul Giamatti makes an excellent slimy bad guy. Plus, getting to stare at a rugged Clive for a couple of hours is very pleasing. See it!
