I finally bought my tree tonight! I went to the local nursery and, due to the slim pickings, was out of there with a noble fir within 20 minutes, which was great. My tree is:

A. Massive for my space. So massive that I had asked the woman helping me at the nursery to please chop off some of the bottom to make it shorter, but I guess she heard "Please chop off some of the branches at the bottom," which didn't help with the size at all. So massive that I almost fell over backward when sliding it off the top of my car to carry inside. Note to self: get boyfriend in time for tree buying next year. So massive that Kitty let out a frightened and huffy "Meow!" the moment she saw it. So massive that it didn't fit into my current stand, so I had to leave the tree just sitting in my living room, hoping that it wouldn't topple over on to Kitty, while I ran from store to store to find a new one. So massive that it took all the strength I could muster to get that thing in to the brand new stand. I can't even imagine how I will get it out of here when the time comes. Luckily, upon hearing about my predicament over the phone, Em came over to offer help and moral support. So massive that the top nearly touches the ceiling, so the star that should be perched there is firmly wedged between a branch and the ceiling.

B. Sappy. Does anyone know if sap will come out of carpet?

C. Sort of deformed at the top. From most angles it looks pretty, but from my seat on the couch I can see that one side is angled really funny as it goes up, and that is the side I will be looking at most. Oh well.

D. Absolutely beautiful. Perfect for me, flaws and all. The tree smells so wonderful and makes the living room cozy. It is now decorated with lights and ornaments and icicles. After the getting it in to the stand debacle, I had the best time working on it all evening. I love it! I better love it. I seriously don't know how I will ever get it out of the apartment. The tree is here to stay.
