Em and I dubbed today Back in the Day Day. We both heard older songs we like but hadn't thought about in a while. We had conversations, with each other and with other friends separately, about bands that we hadn't heard from in ages. Strangely, it seemed to be a recurring topic with so many people in my world throughout the day. It's weird when that happens. Superchunk, The Stone Roses, The Rentals, Belly, Sixteen Deluxe...Even one of my guy friends told me that he is "2 legit 2 quit."
I want a Christmas tree and I want one NOW!! I have a spot all ready, but there is nothing. It's a sad little space. I'm turning into a whiny baby about my lack of tree. I went looking yesterday but didn't find one that I like yet. Going on my own probably isn't a good idea. I'm easily overwhelmed by the possibilities, as well as the thought of trying to securely tie a tree to the roof of the Scion, so I end up wandering around the stores not accomplishing anything. Sigh. Must recruit help, or have a tree delivered, because I'm ready for my lights!
After a delicious dinner with friends at the 35th Street Bistro tonight, I bought the Rachel's Systems/Layers CD, because it's not like any other music I have. I'm really enjoying it so far, but I'm not sure how to describe the sound. I recommend giving it a listen. It's like a combination of classical and indie and experimental music. Very unusual to me, and I'm looking forward to hearing the entire album.
Let's see...in other exciting Megan news, I have a little cold with a persistent cough. It's buggin. I'm drinking nasty cough syrup at this very moment, so I can stop hacking and get some rest.
Hmmmm. This post is dangerously close to becoming a laundry list of my daily activities and ailments.
In the spirit of Back in the Day Day, I just finished watching If Lucy Fell (with baby Scarlett Johansson) on cable. Bwick = Life = Love = Death.
Bye.
