BLINGtastic! I guess.

Em sent me An Engineer's Guide to Cats, which I think it pretty funny and entertaining. Maybe because I know quite a few engineers.

Speaking of which, this week I ended up standing next to Bill Gates for a few moments, and I found it, well, awkward. I realize that he's just a guy, and I don't get wrapped up in fame or celebrity (and, no, to answer my sister's question, I couldn't smell the money), but it's just weird to encounter someone when you know exactly who they are, but they don't know you at all. It feels funny to not acknowledge, but what should you do? Smile? Say hi? Act like a freak? Instead, I pretty much pretended like he wasn't there. I know, I'm smooth. Whateva.

My plans this weekend pretty much all fell through, so I've been having a lot of quality Megan Rrrrrr. time. Frankly, quality Megan time is nice for a bit, but it can start to border on dullsville after a while. I've learned a lot of interesting facts on the internet. I'm reading The Lemon Tree. I did some readings for people that I promised ages ago. Today, I bought some lovely flowers for my little garden area and spent some time in the dirt in an effort to help make my world beautiful. This included chucking snails. It's satisfying work, and I have so many gorgeous tulips blooming at the moment. I noticed that the neighbor's lilacs (that hang over the fence into my yard) are starting to develop. I can't wait for those! Lilacs are one of my very favorites.

Also, I can't wait for my mini-vacation to Minneapolis in about a week. I think I need to get away for a few days. Refresh and brighten up my little world a bit with a change of scenery and good friend time.
