My sister Molly came into town Sunday night to deal with a little matter called a warrant out for her arrest. That's right. For the past seven years my sister has been (unknowingly) on the lam from the fuzz and had to return to Seattle for her day in court. Luckily, after many long hours at the Redmond court, she received the best possible outcome when her case was thrown out by the judge! She's a free woman! Bacon R. does not have to pony up the cash to bail her out of jail. Life is good. And, we've been celebrating. Monday night we went to the very delicious Enotria for dinner, and tonight we hit the 35th Street Bistro for wine, cheese, salads, and extremely wonderful scallops. Yum! Also, we have a blast just hanging out on the couch, watching stupid TV, and giggling endlessly over...well, pretty much anything. Time with my sisters is always the best for me. My happiness meter gets a serious boost when I'm around them.
Zozo stayed home this time, and I have to say I miss the little guy. He called Sunday afternoon to shout, "Mama! Seattle!" into the phone over and over. Mols and I got in the car after dinner tonight, and Peter, Bjorn and John's "Amsterdam" was on the radio. On one of Trav's last visits, that was my song for him, and he would rock out in his car seat, pointing his little finger and bouncing his big head up and down to the beat. Total cuteness.
Since she's only here until Thursday morning, we're going to truly celebrate in our classy, last minute, R. girl way by having--what else?--a little bowling party after work on Wednesday. It's what we do, and somehow it's become tradition when my sis is in town, so we're not going to fight it. It's a My Sister Avoided the Clink Par-tay! We're also going to buy Molly cheap beers in honor of her passing her real estate licensing exam on the first attempt, which is a tough thing to do. Only the best for my sister.
